Kenneth Lam

Kenneth Lam is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SeaKapital.

◼ Kenneth Lam has been the Managing Director and Head of Shipping and Offshore in Asia at Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank (CA-CIB) until March 2023. He has also been the Chairman and CEO of Credit Agricole Asia Shipfinance Ltd. (CAASL), a wholly owned subsidiary of CA-CIB fully dedicated to providing a full range of financial and advisory services to the shipping industry. Commencing April 2023, Kenneth Lam has become the Honorary Chairman and Non-Executive Director of CAASL.

◼ Kenneth joined the merchant banking division of Banque Indosuez in 1990 and co-founded Indosuez Asia Shipfinance Services Ltd. in 1993. Indosuez was later merged into the Credit Agricole Group and Kenneth continued to lead CA-CIB's Ship Finance Division in Asia, under the bank’s Structured Finance umbrella, making it a leading shipping bank regionally and globally.

◼ Kenneth is currently a Member of the Hong Kong Maritime and Port Board (“HKMPB”) under the Transport and Logistics Bureau of the HKSAR Government. He is also an Executive Committee Member and the Honorary Treasurer of the Hong Kong Shipowners Association.

◼ Kenneth was a member of the Maritime Leasing and Financing Working Group of the Hong Kong Financial Services Development Council which published the Maritime Leasing Paper in May 2018. He then continued his service in HKMPB’s Task Force on Ship Leasing which spearheaded the enactment of the HK Ship Leasing Bill in June 2020. He also served in HKMPB's Task Force on Commercial Principals, which enacted a new Law for Tax Concessions for certain shipping-related activities in July 2022.

◼ Kenneth is both, a National Committee Member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and a Committee Member of the CPPCC of the Sichuan Province.

◼ Kenneth, as a volunteer, is very committed to the development of sports in Hong Kong. He was the Golf Team Leader and one of the 97 official Hong Kong delegates at the Tokyo Olympics. He is the Immediate Past President of the Hong Kong Golf Association and a Past Captain and the Championship Chair of the Hong Kong Golf Club that runs the world renowned Hong Kong Open. He is the Chairman of the Chinese Recreation Club that runs the largest open tennis tournament in Hong Kong.

◼ Kenneth graduated from Amherst College, Massachusetts, USA in 1990 with an honors B.A. degree in Philosophy and Economics.
